Faith Can Conquer Every Obstacle!

(Matt 14:24-32) But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

(KJV)

Some people insist upon holding Christ at a distance, waiting before going to Him until obstacles have been removed. When economic skies are brighter; when doubts have been cleared; when the edge of sorrow has ben dulled: then they will go to Jesus.

Peter, knowing that the Master was near, in sublime faith asked to go to Him across the surging waters. Fear almost conquered him, but even then Jesus lifted him by the hand, and through the surging sea takes him to safety.

There are always storms of difficulty and of assailing doubts, but when Jesus rises, the storm stops. The calm comes from the power of His presence!

Please pray with me....

Our dear gracious Heavenly Father, we magnify your name today above all others; and ask for your help in our faith-less-ness. Help us to reach....stretch....out to, and grasp tightly, your extended hand in our times of adversity and trouble. In Jesus name and for His sake, we pray.

Amen.
